The IPEC also has appropriate physical space for simulation activities to support its mission and vision. The facilities include multiple simulation rooms designed to replicate clinical environments.
- Manager's Office: Equipped with global paging, TV, PCs, and printer. This office serves as the administrative hub for simulation activities.
- Waiting Room & Entrance: A hospital-like waiting area featuring a TV, welcome desk, hydration station, and couches to create a realistic patient intake environment.
- Pharmacy: A simulated pharmacy equipped with PCs, a compounding hood, a pill packing machine, and mock pharmaceuticals for pharmacy-related training.
- Pre-Brief/De-Brief Rooms: Areas designated for pre-briefing and debriefing sessions, equipped with TVs and PCs to facilitate discussion and learning before and after simulations.
- Scrub Sink/Drying Area: A designated area for simulating proper handwashing and scrubbing techniques, essential for infection control training.
- Exam Room Apartment: A simulated apartment setting used for EMS Paramedics Program to practice in-home patient care scenarios.
- Med Surge Patient Care/Examination Room: Equipped with a hospital bed, IV pole, and other medical equipment, this room simulates a medical-surgical environment.
- Labor and Delivery Room: Designed for birthing and obstetrics simulations, providing realistic scenarios for labor and delivery training.
- Pediatric Patient Care/Examination Room: Equipped with a pediatric crib, this room is used for pediatric care simulations.
