Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must provide valid proof of identity and Texas residency before being permitted to take any of the tests. Identification must be issued by a government entity and contain the following: Applicant’s name, date of birth, a recent photograph, signature and Texas address.

Texas Residency

Texas voter registration card, lease agreement, utility bill, property tax receipt, or federal income tax return. Documents must be current and show the applicant’s name and Texas address.

Age Requirements

Testing is available for Texas residents 18 and older. 16 and 17 year olds must submit additional documentation to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) electronically. Upon verification of all required forms, TEA will notify testing applicant when they can continue with the registration process and schedule their exams.
