The Office of the Vice President of Research, Accreditation & Planning facilitates planning, institutional research and evaluation and assessment district-wide. The Vice President serves as the College's SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison.

Curriculum & Instructional Development

The Office of Curriculum & Instructional Development at El Paso Community College provides leadership and oversight for the development, review, approval, and maintenance of all academic courses and programs. The office ensures compliance with requirements of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board; manages the curriculum approval process; maintains official curriculum records and publications; and collaborates with faculty and academic leadership to support instructional quality and student success. Additionally, the office oversees articulation agreements and Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) processes to strengthen transfer pathways, workforce alignment, and recognition of prior academic and experiential learning.

Data Communication Coordinator

The Data Communication Coordinator serves as a resource to individuals seeking assistance with effective storytelling of their data and can help tailor a data story to the intended audience.

Institutional Accreditation

El Paso County Community College District is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees. The Vice President of Research, Accreditation & Planning serves as the College’s SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison. The Office of Institutional Accreditation operates as the central coordinating office for all phases of the accreditation process, supporting the College’s commitment to institutional effectiveness, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Institutional Effectiveness

Our office provides leadership and coordination in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of college policies and institutional processes. We support program review, committee operations, campus improvement initiatives, and the work of the College Improvement Committee to promote institutional quality, transparency, and accountability.

Institutional Planning

The Office of Institutional Planning serves as the central coordinating point for College-wide planning initiatives.

Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research (IR) assist in decision-making by providing analysis and reporting in a timely and supportive manner with accuracy and accountability.

Quality Enhancement Plan

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is part of EPCC’s accreditation process. It is an institutionally selected plan to increase student success and meet the College mission and goal of continual institutional improvement.

Student Learning Outcomes

The Office of Student Learning Outcomes supports faculty in their identification and measurement of specific knowledge and/or skills that students should acquire upon completion of course or a program. Faculty use this data to explore program improvements or other curricular changes.
