The Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider course incorporates the latest science from the American Heart Association and teaches students how to perform CPR on infants, children and adults. The training includes the use of an automated external defibrillator, barrier devices and how to deal with foreign body airway obstruction.
The First Aid course from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons / Emergency Care & Safety Institute teaches students how to deal with emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies.
Participants will learn to:
- Take action in a medical emergency
- Assess the victim
- Provide basic life support, including airway management, breathing and circulation
