The Retention Action Program (RAP) addresses the necessary skills to succeed in Career Technical Education (CTE) studies.

This program introduces students to learning strategies that can be applied to all courses across the curriculum. We provide services that support, motivate, and focus on goal setting. RAP uses small groups for cooperative learning to facilitate the learning process, teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills necessary for students to succeed.

Academic needs of limited English proficient occupational students are also met. Assistance is provided through oral English development, reading, writing, and math.


Tutoring

RAP provides tutoring in the core curriculum in courses for the Career Technical Education (CTE) fields of study.
In addition, general areas are also covered:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Math

RAP Serves

All students who are pursuing a Career Technical Education (CTE) degree in:

  • Allied Health
  • Humanities
  • Math
  • Business/Computers

Although higher grades are not guaranteed, students who attend tutoring sessions on a regular basis attain higher grades than students who do not receive tutoring.
