This effort consists of workshops and hackathons that aim to provide professional development and experiential learning in cybersecurity-related topics for non-technical backgrounds to increase cyber awareness and needs.

The constant development of emerging computing areas (e.g., Artificial intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Analytics) has created a need to:

  • develop ethical and professional responsibilities for computer users;
  • recognize the need to prepare the future generation of computing/technology users, and
  • manage and develop technologies that impact society.

The focus of this series is to work on real-world problems in El Paso/Cd. Juarez region and provide creative solutions that will bring students, educators, industry, and leaders from both countries through this particular collaboration. This binational effort between El Paso Community College and border partners such as the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez (UACJ) and the Artificial Intelligence Center in Cd. Juarez brings together both cities' talent, joint issues, and solutions for the border good. This effort has been possible by Microsoft.
