The Associates of Applied Science Degree in Court Reporting provides students with the skills and knowledge required to pass the Texas Certified Shorthand Reporter, and the National Court Reporters Association examination. This program also offers a Certificate of Completion in Court Reporting for Legal Stenographer/Scopist.

Using state-of-the-art technology, court reporters capture the spoken word on a shorthand machine, then transcribe it to produce an accurate, verbatim record. The Court Reporting Program offered by El Paso Community College provides the training to prepare a student for a profession that offers the freedom and flexibility to choose the type of work that will fit an individual lifestyle.

Our program includes a conflict-free theory-based classroom training environment, additional training on career-specific software and transcript production.
