El Paso Community College and Management and Engineering Technologies International, Inc. (METI) established a partnership to form the eMerging Science and Technology Institute (eMSTI).

The institute pursues federal contracting and partnerships that provide relevant work experiences, learning experiences, and scholarships to EPCC and regional students.

eMSTI focuses on the critical areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with specific emphasis on the following:

  • Creating Strategic Partnerships with Federal and Regional agencies at the Local and National Level.
  • Providing Job Experience, Educational and Employment Opportunities to Students in both the Federal Market Space as well as regionally throughout El Paso and surrounding areas.
  • Bringing Business and Academia Together to Provide Experienced and Cost Effective Support.
  • Identifying and exploring collaborations that lead to Student Competition, Exploration, Collaboration and Networking for regional students throughout the K-16 educational pipeline

Collaborating with middle and secondary schools and universities in the region to evolve the competitiveness of the region on a global scale with the initiation from EPCC and its partners. eMSTI provides the foundation for economic growth of the region and ensuring the success of student graduates entering the job market.
