FIELD OF STUDY IN ARCHITECTURE
The Associate of Science in Architecture provides students with a strong foundational knowledge of the field of Architecture. Students will learn the necessary skills Architects need to master such as designing, engineering, managing, supervising, and effective communication with clients and builders. Students who complete the AS in Architecture are encouraged to continue their education on to a Bachelor of Architecture degree and later a Master of Architecture degree. Students planning on transferring to Texas Tech University at El Paso’s College of Architecture must complete their Core Curriculum course requirements before applying for transfer. If you are planning to transfer to Texas Tech University in Lubbock or any other Texas institution excluding TTU El Paso, all credits will transfer even if students aren’t Core complete. All students will be required to submit a portfolio of their work to their selected university or college for review and acceptance. All Texas public institutions, including TTU El Paso, accept all Architecture Field of Study (FOS) courses. See the degree plan below to view which courses count toward the Architecture FOS. Architecture courses are only offered in the semester they appear in.
