The Virtual College of Texas (VCT) is a collaborative of Texas' fifty community college districts and the Texas State Technical College Systems sharing distance learning capabilities. Through the VCT, students may register at their local college to take credit and non-credit distance learning courses from other colleges throughout Texas and receive support services from the local college.
Students must meet all El Paso Community College requirements including pre-requisites. If you need a class to advance or graduate that isn't available contact the DLSS department.

VCT Course Approval Process
The VCT course approval process can take up to ten working days. If a student is notified by the DLSS Department that the course curriculum or faculty credentials are not approved, the student may request a different course from another school and/or instructor, and the approval process is restarted. Once you are registered for your course, you will be contacted by DLSS to pay the tuition.
You are responsible for ensuring that you meet the technical requirements for each course. Follow the instructions provided on the VCT web site course details page for logging into your course and contacting your instructor. If you need technical assistance or training, contact the Distance Learning Support Services Office who can arrange support for you.
Additional Course Information
Student support is provided by the DLSS Department. On successful completion, the course is listed on the students EPCC transcript.
Textbook information is listed on the VCT course details page. Visit or contact the Valle Verde Campus Barnes & Noble Bookstore to see if the required text is available through them. If not, contact the bookstore at the college providing the course to obtain your course textbook and materials in plenty of time to be ready for the start of your course.
Be sure you can adhere to the testing requirements listed in the syllabus for each course before registering. The Distance Learning Support Services Department (DLSS) can help you arrange proctored testing if required.
Withdrawal from Course
If you find that it is necessary to withdraw from the course, the EPCC calendar withdrawal dates apply to the VCT courses. Contact DLSS and your instructor if you plan to withdraw from the course.
