The Cyber Network Security degree has evolved to meet the changing needs of Cyber Technicians. The ITS Faculty has supported the program even with the short supply of space to conduct labs. The EPCC Cisco Academy started to support the Cyber Security program by allowing the scheduling of security classes the Cisco Class room. Dell Najera the ITS and Computer Science Coordinator has been and still is a strong advocate for the emerging Degree offering. The EPCC Administration is also adding its support as evidenced with a new Science Building on the Valle Verde Campus, which will expand the training capacity threefold for the Cyber Security training effort.
The cyber Security center will provide the student with access state of art lab environment equipped with up-to-date lab equipment to perform labs in cybersecurity that will allow the student to master skills that are in demand today in the industry. Students will learn concepts and strategies to master Networking and Security skills required in today's security workforce.
Network devices for Cisco Academy training as well as servers, computers, will allow the student to create various scenarios to gain the ability to gain a deeper understanding for network defenses.
