Description


MVTI Shuttle Bus This is a 200 hour course. The program provides 80 hours of classroom instruction and 120 hours practical training designed to prepare the student to enter the job market as a commercial truck driver. Training also includes learning all vehicle systems, department of transportation rules and regulations, safe operations, cargo handling, hazardous materials and job placement.

Goal:
The goal of this program is to provide comprehensive training program for an entry-level position as a professional commercial truck driver. For this purpose, El Paso Community College has partnered with Mesilla Valley Training Institute and their outstanding training program.

Courses offered:

Courses are offered continuously throughout the year. Courses are 40 hours per week and are 5 weeks in length.

Apprenticeship Programs:
Major companies will continue the student’s education with an On-the-Job Training Program. New drivers are partnered with an experienced driver where the student will gain further valuable knowledge and experience.  
 
EPCC is in partnership with Mesilla Valley Training Institute as a training provider.

Job Opportunities:
Students are recruited by the major truck driving companies in the region, to include: Mesilla Valley Transportation, Werner Enterprises, Swift, Covenant Transport, Danny Herman Trucking and Contract Freighter, Inc. (CFI).
