open pdf files

- Sometimes,
when using the online databases, you are going to get the articles in one of two
formats: html or pdf. Click on "html."
- The
html format means that the article has been reformatted to make it easy to read
in a Web browser.
- The
pdf format is a graphic file,
like a "picture" of the original article-- same layout, fonts and graphics. Click
on "pdf."
- To
save a pdf article, you need to click on the "disk" on the toolbar of the Adobe
Acrobat software.
- To
read the file saved in pdf format, you MUST have in your computer Adobe Acrobat,
a free software.
- To
get Adobe Acrobat, type www.adobe.com on your Web browser.
- Scroll
down and click on "Get Adobe Reader."
- To
download Adobe Acrobat, follow the directions given on the <www.adobe.com>
page.
- PDF files:
- 1. take a lot
of space on your disk or in your email box.
- 2.
When you save, print or email a pdf file, you do NOT get the information about
the database! You must write down the name of the database you used! You need
this information for your work cited page or bibliography.
