How to find information about El Paso. Part 1.

1.Go to the Reference Area (first floor of the library). Ask a librarian for assistance.

Reference books are going to give you backgrounds and overviews on different topics. Some books about El Paso are so valuable that they are going to be located ONLY in the Reference area of the library. Reference books do NOT circulate. Use the photocopiers to save the information that you need.

Some reference books:

• The New Handbook of Texas
• The New Encyclopedia of the American West
• Una Linda Raza
• Union of Eagles: El Paso/Juarez

2. Use the Library Catalog

Most of the material in the catalog is going to be of a historical nature.

• Do a subject search under "el paso (tex) history."
• You are going to retrieve material available in all of E.P.C.C. campuses.
• If it says "check shelf," it means that the material is available.
