How to use Newsbank database

• From the Valle Verde Library Homepage, click "Online Databases."
• Scroll down.
• Select the category Newspaper Articles.
• Select NewsBank
• NewsBank offers you different databases.
• Now, you click on Texas Newspapers.
• You can select different cities in Texas. If you don't select any, the computer will search in all these cities.
• You can also select news from different countries. Click on The World. Now, you do it.
• Choose from what part of the world you would like to get news.
• Scroll down to get news from the Middle East.
• NewsBank Academic Collection is a subject directory (a listing of topics) of the most popular topics in the news for research papers.
• Click on NewsBank Academic Collection.
• Main topics are subdivided. For example, look under Education.
• Select under Film and Television the subtopic "trends in reality tv." Now, you do it.
• NewsBank also allows you to do retrospective or "historical" searches, from 1970 to 1991.
• Click "Search."
• Match the NewsBank database with its description

1 .El Paso Times

a) For news 1977-1999

2 .The World	b) El Paso newspaper
3. NewsBank Retrospective	c) International news
4. Acceda	d) News in Spanish language
5. Newswires	e) Subject directory of current news/hot topics
6. NewsBank Academic	f) For the latest electronic news

Results: 1 = b; 2= c; 3 = a; 4 = d; 5 = f; 6 = e
