How to use Infotrac Newspapers database

• From the Valle Verde Library Homepage, click on "Online Databases."
• Select the "Newspaper Articles" link.
• Select "Infotrac Custom Newspapers."
• Infotrac Custom Newspapers includes the last 365 of the New York Times and over 100 other English language newspapers.
• The InfoTrac Custom Newspaper page opens. Type your search on the box and click the search button.
• Type your search on the search box. Example: immigration AND "border security."
• You can narrow or do a more specific search if you limit your search by time frame.
• Click the "between" button.
• Limit the date to articles from January 1, 2007 to June 6, 2008.
• Another way to narrow your search is by name of publication.
• New York Times is typed on the search box.
• Click "Submit."
• The Results page appears with 25 articles.
• Now you are ready to save, print or email.
• Quiz:
  • True or False: Infotrac Newspapers only has newspapers published in U.S.
    • Answer: False
  • True or False: It is not possible to narrow your search in Infotrac Newspapers.
    • Answer: False
  • True or False: In Infotrac Newspapers you can get only the last month of the New York Times.
    • Answer: False
