Text

Movie version
- Today, you are learning
to cite an article from the book, Contemporary Literary Criticism,
(C.L.C.) which you find in the Reference area of V.V. Library.
- You are learning to cite
in A.P.A. an article or chapter in an edited book, reprinted from another
source. This is the case of the criticism you find in the book Contemporary
Literary Criticism. (C.L.C.)
- Remember, excerpts are
not complete articles, just part of an essay taken from either a journal or
a book and reprinted in Contemporary Literary Criticism. (C.L.C.)
- Contemporary Literary
Criticism is going to give you excerpts of criticism published previously
elsewhere. So, the first thing to do is to name the author of the excerpt
(last name, initials). The author is followed by the name of the book (Contemporary
Literary Criticism) you are using. After this, comes the title of the excerpt
(article or essay).
- Look at the end of the
excerpt to find out who wrote this criticism and from where was it taken.
This is the information you need to cite the original.
- These excerpts are coming
from books. We know that because a publisher is mentioned.
- Quiz Question

excerpt is coming from a book?

a publisher or editor.

the article and the issue and volume number.
