Guidelines
for E-mail/Chat Reference Service:
V.V. Reference librarians
will provide brief answers via e-mail/chat to specific factual questions.
Under normal circumstances,
we will attempt next-day service when answering e-mail reference questions,
except during intersessions when the service will be closed.
If your reference question
is more general or complex, you may wish to consult the Search
the Web Page, theLibrary Catalogor you may speak to a reference librarian in person or by calling 831-2442.
The Library will
provide advice on research and suggest possible resources. The Library will
NOT do the research for the student. The Library's goal is to help students
become independent, self-sufficient users.
The Library will
NOT create or compile bibliographies (works cited page), check lists of books
(bibliographies), do class assignments, give advice on legal, financial or
medical matters, answer questions for contests, look up statistics (we will
tell you where to look), look up personal information, do your citations,
proofread or correct your papers.
