- Authority

are the author’s qualifications?

- Is
the author affiliated with an association, institution, business?

Trace back the URL to verify who sponsors page.
- Is
the information copyright?

Does it have a bibliography?
- Accuracy
- How
reliable is the information?
- If
it is research, does it explain the method used?
- How
was data gathered?
- Are
there editors?
- Who
has the ultimate responsibility for the information?
- Can
factual information be verified?
- Is
the information free of grammatical and spelling errors?
- Objectivity
- Is
the information presented with a minimum of bias?
- To
what extent is the information trying to persuade you?
- Is
it free of advertising?
- What
is the purpose? Entertainment? Educational? Informative?
- Are
they trying to sell you something?
- Currency
- Is
it updated? How often?

When was it published on the Web?
- Is
the publication date clearly stated?
- When
was the last revision made?

Are the links reliable?
- Does
it have a copyright date?
- Coverage
- What
topics are included?
- Does
it explore the subject in depth?

the information lead you to other sources that were useful?
