The countdown to the next El Paso Community College Reaffirmation of Accreditation has begun. This reaffirmation differs from past reaffirmations because the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) now has nearly 80 Principles addressing the required standards versus the 400 must statements under the Criteria of the last reaffirmation. To see the Principles, click on this SACSCOC link http://www.sacscoc.org/pdf/2010principlesofacreditation.pdf.
In addition, the reaffirmation process includes a new document called the Quality Enhancement Plan. For more information about this requirement and document, click on the Quality Enhancement Plan link to the left.
Also, this time the College will be reviewed by two committees of peers selected by SACSCOC. The first committee is an off-site group that will review the Compliance Certification Report (formerly called the Self-Study). This review will be done remotely through the Internet between mid-March and May 2012. The second committee is an on-site visiting team that will again review some components of the Compliance Certification Report and will look at the Quality Enhancement Plan. That visit will be in fall 2012.
Please return to this site routinely for updates and information regarding the process and visits. EPCC's Reaffirmation of Accreditation is important to everyone at the College and the El Paso Community.
