Ask a Librarian
When beginning a research assignment,
it is important to know what kind of information you will need to complete
the task. Do you need substantial background information on a topic that may
be located in a book or in a journal, magazine, or newspaper article? Or do
you need short answers like names, places and dates that may be found in an
encyclopedia, almanac, directory or other ready reference source? Using the
correct search term is an essential step. Ask a librarian for help if you
are not sure what term to use.
Short, factual, ready reference
type questions can be submitted by e-mail, and a reference librarian will
answer it within 24 hours. Send your questions to Monica Wong at
