Along the Rio Grande

 The EPCC-TV television series Along the Rio Grande ran from 2000 to 2003 and was aired on EPIC-TV, an El Paso, Texas instructional cable outlet and KRWG-TV, the Las Cruces, New Mexico PBS affiliate. Two programs a month highlighted local individuals and institutions involved in historical and cultural projects in the greater El Paso area. 

The programs were produced through El Paso Community College's Center for Instructional Telecommunications. The Series producer was Marco Lara. Pat Ebert and Nacho Acosta provided most of the technical support, operating cameras and audio.

 The host was Dr. George D. Torok, Ph.D, History Professor at the colleges Valle Verde Campus. Dr. Torok has worked on local history projects in Texas, New Mexico, and Chihuahua, particularly with historic sites. His publications include scholarly articles, monographs, and public education materials.

The series was broadcast weekly throughout the three year period and many programs have been rerun on regular basis. For copies of any of the programs, contact the Center for Instructional Communications at El Paso Community College at 915-831-2000.
