EPCC PROFESSOR AWARDED FULBRIGHT TO MOROCCO
The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board and the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education recently announced that EPCC Professor Keri Moe was selected to participate in the 2008 Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program. Moe, who is the only participant selected from El Paso, will be traveling and completing research during a seven week program in Morocco along with 15 other educators selected from across the United States.
Moe, an Assistant Professor of Speech, will be travelling extensively during her time in Morocco in order to conduct research and develop a curriculum project that will facilitate cultural understanding at EPCC and other institutions. “It is an honor to be selected for such a prestigious program,” Professor Moe said, “As an educator, this is an invaluable opportunity to take an active role in cultural awareness and understanding which I can share with my students, colleagues and community.”
The Fulbright Hays Seminars Abroad program provides short-term study and travel seminars abroad for U.S. educators in the social sciences and the humanities for the purpose of improving understanding and knowledge of the cultures of other countries. The administering agency for the Morocco seminar is the Moroccan-American Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange.
Congratulations Keri Moe!
