The Foundation for El Paso Community College has received an additional gift of $10,000 from Roy and Carol Alanis in memory their daughter Mary D. Alanis, a mathematics instructor at El Paso Community College who devoted her life to assisting non-traditional students advance their education. 

This gift from the Alanis family will be used along with other donations to award up to 150 scholarships to area students for the Spring 2010 semester.  Applications to the Mary D. Alanis Memorial Fund, as well as the Foundation’s other scholarship funds, are available on the Foundation’s website now.  Completed applications for the Spring 2010 semester are due by November 19, 2009.
