The Value of Time: Online Degree Plans
 
Many universities offer complete online degrees. Some specialize in this and do not have physical campuses. Few community colleges as yet offer 100% online degrees. We propose that EPCC step up an innovative, vision directed, technology-driven 100% online degree program.

Intercampus Shuttle
 
Team proposed for EPCC to establish a shuttle that transports students and employees, allowing them to park at on campus and ride a shuttle to other campuses. EPCC could also serves as a model in the community by encouraging carpooling and helping the environment.

LDA Connections Program
 
Project focuses on retention issues caused by domestic violence against EPCC students. The goal is to help reduce absenteeism, improve grades and reduce drop rates by providing much needed awareness and prevention resources.

Are You Technology Challenged?
 You've Come to the Right Place
 
"Tejano Transit" is a shuttle service for "no student left behind." The shuttle service would serve students, faculty and staff with transporation between campuses. During spring and fall 2008, a total of 941 students had to go to a different campus to attend classes not taught at the primary campus.

Experience IT!
 
 Experience IT is an interactive tool designed to educate students about the different aspects of possible careers at EPCC, by helping students define their goals and expectations. It will help make the EPCC experience more meaningful because students will have the opportunity to find a career this is right for them.

EPCC is affiliated with Service Members Opportunity Colleges, which operates a variety of programs that give service members educational opportunities. Benefits woud include following and achieving original degree plan, without making relocations an obstacle.

Student Ambassador Program
 
A Student Ambassador is a representative of EPCC. This project proposes that ambassadors help in the recruitment of future students. They would also represent the College in various functions such as orientations, campus tours, speaking appointments and other events.

EPCC Partnership With Financial Institution

Develop of a partnership with a local institution to establish a student-run "bank on campus" to provide employment to students and banking services to students, faculty and staff throughout the District. This project would provide supplemental income and real-life work experience for students as they pursue their higher education goals.

LDA Connections Program
 
LDA Connections is a mentoring program that will pair up first time EPCC students with faculty, staff and administrators participating in the Academy. During the first year, LDA participants will be mentors, but for future years LDA alumni would be recruited to become mentors.

E-Books

Information technology and especially the Internet have profoundly changed the publishing process. Newspapers, magazines and periodicals have for years been published online and all kinds of texts are now available in digitized form. At the turn of the century, this digitalization of the written language finally reached the book publishing industry.
