Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing Degree

This articulated classroom and clinical education program prepares students to become eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Program graduates provide professional nursing care, patient teaching, effective communication, and management of patient care. LVN to RN Transition Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing Degree

This classroom and clinical education program prepares students to become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN. Program graduates provide professional nursing care, patient teaching, effective communication, and management of patient care. Students who have previously completed a vocational nursing program will be able to transfer their vocational nursing courses to this program under the Texas Nursing Articulation Plan. Students will receive credit for the first two (2) semesters of the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Nursing Degree Plan. These students start the degree plan by enrolling in RNSG 2207 Transition to Nursing Practice, RNSG 1240, Nursing Skills for Articulating Students,  RNSG 1327 Transition from Vocational to Professional Nursing and RNSG 1262 Clinical-Nursing-Registered Nurse Training VIII. Paramedic-Nursing Option Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree

This articulated classroom and clinical education program prepares individuals for eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN. Program graduates provide professional nursing care, patient teaching, effective communication, and management of patient care. Students must have current state licensure as EMT-LP’s to enter the program. Students must also complete all academic courses. Students entering the program must meet all specialized admission and non-traditional placement requirements prior to enrollment in specialized courses. Please refer to the El Paso Community College catalogue for pre and post-enrollment requirements.

Vocational Nursing Certificate of Completion

This articulated classroom and clinical education program prepares individuals for eligibility to take the Licensure Examination for Practical (Vocational) Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Vocational Nurses perform routine nursing procedures under the supervision of Registered Nurses or physicians. These procedures include observation, reporting, and the environmental and physical management of patients.
