Defined Design . . .
Design is a planned arrangement where basic elements and principles work together to create a pleasing, functional and safe environment.
The Designer . . .
The designer is an individual that can accommodate all the basic elements to produce a well organized and aesthetically pleasing space. These individuals are creative, imaginative, and artistic. Combine their knowledge with artistic vision, they can work with clients and develop design solutions that are safe, functional and attractive.
Our Program . . .
El Paso Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interior Design Technology and a one year Certificate of Completion Program. Each can lead the student to a career in one of the most dynamic professions available.

The Curriculum . . .
The Interior Design Technology Program prepares individuals for entry-level employment and provides continuing education opportunities for those already in the Interior Design field. From understanding color psychology, textile application or lighting sources, we provide the education that leads to a successful career.
Through our courses in computer-aided drafting, space planning and interior design graphics, our students expand their knowledge in technology and its wide use throughout the design industry.
With input provided by our advisory board members and by following academic standards, our courses reflect and meet the needs of our design community.
Additional Activities . . .
Part of the curriculum includes site visits to some of the most dynamic design business in El Paso, TX., Las Cruces, NM., and Juarez, Chih., MX. Our students may also participate in the EPCC Interior Design Student Club or the Student Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
