Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)
This two-year program prepares the student for employment in the heat transfer industries. Course content provides theory and practical experience in this field. Students are required to obtain a basic tool kit and OSHA-approved safety glasses. The capstone experience for this program is HART 2441, Commercial Air Conditioning.
This program also offers certificate options. The first certificate provides the skills necessary for employment as an entry-level HVAC technician in residential refrigeration and air conditioning. The exit point for this certificate is at the end of the First Year and the capstone course is HART 1441, Residential Air Conditioning. The second certificate is a one-year certificate and provides the skills needed for an entry-level HVAC technician in both residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. A Tech-Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate is available for students who have met the Associate of Applied Science Degree program competencies.
