
The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Accounting prepares students to enter the Accounting profession at an Accounting Technician position. The two-year program emphasizes internal accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they apply to external reporting. The program of study allows students the option to strengthen their overall education and to select accounting electives in their area of special interest or job opportunity. The program also offers an entry-level Computerized Accounting Applications Certificate upon completion of the first semester of the first year providing the student with an exit point. The capstone experience course for the AAS degree is ACNT 2379, Accounting Applications Capstone Course. The capstone experience course for the Certificate of Completion is ACNT 1313, Computerized Accounting Applications.
