Thank you for your interest in our programs at El Paso Community College.  The Health Career and Technical Education, Math and Science Division has many opportunities to explore.  It is the mission of this Division to provide educational opportunities that prepare individuals in allied health careers, math and science to improve their personal quality of life and to contribute to their economically and culturally diverse community.
First, the Health Career and Technical Education Programs that are offered at El Paso Community College offer many opportunities in health care.  Our graduates are found throughout the community in many job settings—from doctor/dentist offices and clinics to medical centers.  I encourage you to explore the opportunities through the EPCC Catalog or through our special  web site www.epcc.edu/health where you can find detailed career information to include salary and job opportunities for each field. Most of the allied health programs are taught at the Rio Grande Campus.  The Emergency Medical Services programs are taught primarily at the Mission del Paso Campus, with selected courses scheduled at other campuses and in partner high schools as dual credit or articulated programs.  The Pharmacy Technology program is primarily taught at the Northwest Campus.  Our Community Health Advocacy/Promotores program is schedule primarily at the Mission del Paso Campus.  Various multi-disciplinary courses in the Health Professions & Related Sciences are scheduled at several campuses each semester with some courses offered as on-line sections. Regardless of the location, the allied health programs are all under this Division.  If you are interested in one of these programs, it is very important that you attend a Health Careers Orientation given by the Counselors at the Rio Grande Campus to get accurate information about the Specialized Admissions and other unique requirements of these programs (e.g. background checks and drug tests).
Math and Science courses in many disciplines are found at the Rio Grande Campus and these also are offered at other campuses.   Only the courses scheduled at the Rio Grande Campus are under this Division.  Opportunities to take courses that are in areas of concentration for math, biology, geology, chemistry, and physics exist as well as those courses which are required for other programs. There are specialized laboratory facilities for math and science programs.
Other special services which are found in this Division include the Rio Grande Campus Library, the Rio Grande Border Health Clinic-Allied Health (dental clinic, sonography clinic, physical therapy clinic, and the vision clinic), Health Grants, and the Health and Science Computer Laboratory.
