Institutional Research is an integral and crucial element in the College's planning and evaluation process. At EPCC, Institutional Research is centralized and operates under the Office of Research and Development. Research is conducted and used throughout the year in planning and evaluating.

The Office of Institutional Research activities are as follows:

  • Ongoing timely data collection.
     
  • Analysis and dissemination of data.
     
  • Use of external studies and reports.
     
  • Design and implementation of internal studies related to students, personnel, facilities, equipment, programs, services and fiscal resources.
     
  • Development of databases suitable for longitudinal studies and statistical analysis.
     
  • Related activities in support of planning, evaluation and management.
     
  • Reports to state and federal agencies.
     
  • Information related to student success.
     
  • Information related demographics.
     
  • Information related to budget planning.
     
  • Information related to enrollment management.
     
  • Necessary information for educational decision-making to college areas.
     
  • Information provided by Institutional Research assists EPCC programs/departments in assessing their goals and developing area plans.

The Office of Institutional Research regularly collects and analyzes data. The office disseminates the data and analysis results to appropriate College areas. Consistently, the Office of Institutional Research evaluates its various functions for the purpose of improving its efficiency in research and services to the College community. Thus, the Office of Institutional Research sends a customer satisfaction questionnaire on all completed research projects to obtain feedback.
