La Onda Chicana/The Chicano Wave: advance screening of the third hour of a four-hour PBS series entitled Latin Music USA scheduled for national broadcast this coming fall (2009) on PBS.

   
 

From the birth of Tejano music through the musical innovations that would galvanize the Chicano movement, to the top of the charts with Ritchie Valens, Freddy Fender, Los Lobos, Linda Ronstadt and Selena, La Onda Chicana/The Chicano Wave explores the evolution of Mexican-American music as Chicano artists struggle against discrimination and move from the fringes of American society to the national stage.
