The Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP)
HCOP is a federally-funded grant program that is implemented with support from the US Department of Health and Human Services - Bureau of Health Professions. The Health Careers Opportunity Program has been affiliated with El Paso Community College (EPCC) since its introduction in 1989.
The objectives of the Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) are as follows:

To recruit disadvantaged students into selected allied health programs at EPCC

To disseminate career and financial aid information to potential

To provide preliminary education through a summer institute

To facilitate entrance into health programs

To retain students through their course of study

To promote the health professions among minority students
