College offers dental service
By Sonia Rangel

EPCC is now helping the community maintain the health of their teeth by providing dental care and related services.

According to Lourdes Orocco, assistant clerk at the dental service department, this program is available for the entire community.

The dental hygiene clinic has students, who are supervised by faculty and a clinical dentist, learn and practice hands-on services, such as dental check-ups and dental cleaning.

A patient with a cavity or in need of a root canal is, however, referred to their own dentist. The services are offered on a walk-in basis with a small fee of $15.

The department is open on Wednesdays only during the fall semester starting Aug. 29 – Nov. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The clinic will also be open during the spring semester. Anyone interested can find the department in the Rio Grande campus in room H105.
