Dr. Rabab Fares, AVP of marketing, has withdrawn her notice of appeal in the Court of Appeals Eighth District of Texas.
Fares filed notice of the withdrawal on Oct. 3. Fares, who has appealed her June 4, 2002, shoplifting conviction twice and requested a new trial once, “has decided not to pursue an appeal … and believes that pursuit of an appeal will not be in her best interest,” according to court documents.
Dr. Richard Rhodes was quoted in the Sep. 12, 2002 El Conquistador, “I will allow her to explore and exhaust all of her legal remedies ....”
Asked to respond about the Oct. 3, withdrawal Rhodes said, “We would have to wait until [Fares] returns.”
Fares is currently on family leave.
