The art department faculty has presented an art exhibit called The Faculty Art Show at the EPCC Transmountain campus.

From Oct. 15-26, The Faculty Art Show displayed different styles of art that were produced by the faculty.

About 10 art professors and one lab assistant participated in the exhibit.

Tom McIlwain, the assistant art professor and coordinator of the exhibit, and the faculty got together a month ago and decided to make an art exhibit.

“It was a last minute thing,” said McIlwain.

Although it was the first year for the exhibit
according to McIlwain, he is planning to make it an annual event.

Plans in expanding the exhibit at the TM campus are a part of the aspirations for next year. The event was a success, according to McIlwain.

“I hope to have more professors participating next year,” he said.

Abstract paintings, photographs, conceptual pieces, drawings, ceramics, mixed media and collages were a few of the different styles of art being displayed.

McIlwain said he hopes to have more art to be displayed for next year’s art exhibit.

On Oct. 19, a reception for the art exhibit was held at the TM campus. About thirty people attended the reception on Friday.
