What are purported to be the best coffee beans from around the world are now being offered at the Lighthouse Coffee Co., a family-operated business that is sure to suit everyone’s taste.
With two locations on the east side of town, Lighthouse Coffee offers a unique feature for coffee lovers.
“We’re the only coffeehouse in El Paso that roasts in the store,” said Anthony Burkholder, a barista.
“Fresh coffee tastes so much better,” he added. “It’s like eating salad made with fresh vegetables pulled from the garden.”
Co-owner Leland Deford III said, “Our coffee is imported from different countries in Central and South America, Africa and the Indonesian Islands.”
“We use 100 percent class one, specialty grade Arabica coffee bean which is the highest quality coffee available,” said Deford.
A Jamaican rum latte had a mild sweet taste, with a hint of vanilla. I liked it, and will definitely get it again on my next visit.
Regarding desserts, the cheesecake was good, but the apple crumb cake was exceptional. The coffee shop also offers other menu items such as smoothies, freezes, herbal teas and gourmet pretzels.
Lighthouse Coffee Co. has a casual, warm and inviting atmosphere with stylish decorations and a friendly staff.
It’s a great place to hang out, study, conduct meetings or simply enjoy your favorite cup of coffee. In the evening, a variety of entertainment is offered, such as an open-microphone poetry reading, a photography slide program and live music.
The eastside location is at 3021 McRae Blvd. and the northeast flagship is on 10060 Rushing Rd.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Weekend hours are Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The shop is on the east side of McRae at Cosmos.
