"Halloween is just little kids dressing up. They're just having fun and don't know the difference between good and evil.
I dressed up in costumes growing up and trick-or-treated house to house too.
For those that don't celebrate, I do support them because everyone is entitled to what they believe. It is their freedom of speech and opinion."
"Well, maybe those people are too religious. It's just something for entertainment and a fun day to dress up. I trick-or-treated growing up. I take my kids trick-or-treating. One year they had a Halloween birthday party. I take them to Halloween events such as Spooktacular. I go to night school and this year I have classes on Halloween night, but I'm going to still try to find someone else to take them."
"There have been people at the San Antonio church-- a substitute teacher-- telling children not to celebrate Halloween because it is evil and celebrates the devil. I believe it's not necessarily for evil nowadays. It's a holiday where kids dress up to be what they want to be-- things they fantasize about. I always dressed up like superheroes and trick-or-treated. It’s their opinion, but they shouldn't force it on other people."
"It is a pagan holiday, but I think too much has been read into it. I think we can focus on the positives and kind of disregard whatever pagan beliefs are behind it. It's 2006! I grew up in a pretty religious house and we didn't practice trick-or-treating or really get involved with Halloween activities. There is nothing wrong with dressing up one day out of the year and getting candy."
