EPCC students with a thirst for fame may find themselves in the limelight once the El Paso Playhouse opens auditions for its new season.

The El Paso Playhouse is well into another season of enticing and entertaining plays. This 28-year-old, volunteer-driven establishment is known for its lavish, upstage shows. Since it's inception in 1978, it has been host to hundreds of productions.

Among them include the beloved titles, Little Women, The Importance of Being Earnest, and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

If you're a fan of the theater looking to become more involved or an already active thespian looking to land your next role, the El Paso Playhouse has you covered. Auditions for the Playhouse's future productions are currently underway.

Auditions will be held for Nunsense on April 1-2. When the cook accidentally poisons several sisters of a parochial school, the surviving sisters decide to put on a show in order to raise money to bury their dearly departed friends.

Hilarious happenings follow and those who are familiar with the parochial school lifestyle are sure to take a long, gut-busting walk down memory lane.

The playhouse is looking to cast five females who can sing. Auditions will require the performances of prepared pieces of music. The play will be directed by Ron Szatkowski and will run June 1-23.

All auditions begin at 7 p.m. on the aforementioned dates. Most auditions involve reading directly from the script, thus becoming familiar with it beforehand is recommended.
