Letter to the Editor

Editor must get facts straight on Iraq

I am a full-time student here at El Paso Community College and I recently picked up a copy of your Tejano Tribune. I read a column by your editor titled, “Iranian boss is out of his mind”, when I noticed a part stating, “Ahmadinejad, who takes most of the blame for igniting the Iraqi war... .” I just wanted to question the accuracy of that comment given the fact that Ahmadinejad was sworn in August 2005, while the war in Iraq had already begun since March of 2003. Just checking the historical accuracy of your editor’s comment since this paper reaches many fellow students, staff and others so I wouldn’t want them to be misinformed or misled. Thank you, I hope for some type of a response from your part.

Editors note

Thank you for reading and responding to my column, Adrian.
I apologize for my incorrect word usage.
I shouldn’t have said he takes the blame for igniting the war. I should have said Ahmadenijad has been blamed for escalating the war by pitting the Shiite and the Sunni Muslim factions.
I appreciate your
letter. Thanks again.
