Paint palettes for EPCC Scholarships
By Diana Trejo

The Art department of EPCC will be having a fundraising auction, called the Painted Palettes Parade, which will raise scholarship money for students majoring in art.

Amado Peña, a popular artist from El Paso, who also has a scholarship in his name, will be donating 65 of his paintings.

The Leadership Academy, who recently had their retreat, is donating their paintings, as well as local artists, dignitaries and some EPCC employees.

“This is the first auction we are having,” said Jeanne Foskett, an organizer for the event. “We are hoping to make this an annual auction.”

There will be a live auction and a silent auction for those who don’t want to bid live.

“I’m not sure how much we are going to raise, since it’s our first auction,” said Foskett.

The ASC will be hosting the event that is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. for the silent auction and 6:30 p.m. for the live auction.
