DA jumped the gun in Karr case
By Leslie Council

The way I’ve always understood it, this democratic society is not suppose to convict people when there’s a shadow of doubt. We’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, been read Miranda rights, to speak with protection of a lawyer or confess without one.

Left and right people are being taken at their word! People are confessing to wicked crimes that they didn’t commit and the criminal process continues despite the doubt.

I look at John Carr who claimed he had “killed Jon Benet on accident,” as an even worse culprit to have behind bars because now the real perpetrator is probably rolling with tears of laughter.

As a teacher to younger children, Karr also married young girls. His history is a bit more twisted than I think he wanted attention brought to. Maybe he didn’t kill Benet, but he is exposing the death of this child as a continued blotch of the correctional system.

They took Karr with just a confession after he wrote letters repeatedly to sources in close contact with the case. Maybe he is writing a book, but why go to such great lengths to make yourself a character of the story, without some type of psychosis that labels most as pedophilic.

They escorted him first class on mere suspicion when none of the samples matched him. They claim they didn’t test him there because he was a flight case, but if he was so eager to confess after so long, how could he have run again?

There are rumors and there are facts. Karr’s personal life is even stranger than any rumors. He married twice to younger women. In his second marriage Karr allegedly delivered twin daughters at home that did not survive. All his children, including the twins had strange names like Angel and Innocence. He lost communication with his three remaining sons after the child pornography charges were filed.

He could play a teacher who intimidated children and was fired on numerous occasions. He doesn’t deny many of these strange details in his life. I wonder if his psychosis, this need for attention didn’t force him to change who he might have been in order to live out this pedo-phallic dream.

Or is it partially society’s fault for condoning little girls prancing half naked like adults on stage for all to see. To be considered Jon Benet’s killer would have made him the ultimate pedophile who escaped with the perfect crime. But if Karr really loved the pretty little doll-like girl, why didn’t he let the real killer come forth and let Benet rest in peace?
