Nursing dean resigns
Staff report

Dr. Josefina Lujan, who took over as EPCC’s Dean of Nursing in the spring of 2008, will be resigning her position effective Aug. 20, according to a campus-wide e-mail initiated by Dr. Dennis Brown, vice president of instruction.

The e-mail explained that Lujan was leaving to pursue another career opportunity.

Dr. Lydia Tena, Northwest campus dean, will serve as the Interim Dean of Nursing (while continuing to fulfill her role as the Northwest campus dean).

“Because of her experience, and due to a number of issues currently being addressed in the nursing program, I have asked Dr. Tena to step in to the interim position one more time,” Brown’s e-mail said. “I will work closely with Lydia as she oversees both divisions.

“I want to thank her [Tena] for stepping forward to help us at this critical time,” said Brown. “I know that she will perform both roles superbly.”
