The
EPCC Theatre department ended the semester with a bang, with the performance
of Plaza Suite, written by Neil Simon and directed by EPCC’s
Hector Serrano.

It was a perfect way to top off the second season of the theater ensemble,
which also included: Immigration Dreams, also directed by Hector Serrano,
Real Women Have Curves, directed by Cornelia Patterson, and A Funny
Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, directed by Elizabeth Gaidry
and Kieth Townsend, with musical direction by Armin Harrison.

Plaza
Suite, a hilarious three-act play, exposed the audience to three very
different couples, as they all faced crucial moments in their lives.
It all took place in the same room at the Plaza Hotel, hence the title.
The play’s mature comedy kept everybody laughing. A EPCC student,
Michael Kominek, said “It was really funny.” Many students
came out to show support for their Theater department (even if it
was primarily for extra credit).
Walter Cuffee, a student and an inspiring actor himself said “The
extra credit is just a bonus, I really just go to have a good time.”
So far, most students that attend EPCC’s theater productions
have always left happy with the satisfaction of getting good entertainment.
There is just too much hard work that goes into these outstanding
and well crafted productions to miss.
Based on this season’s incredible array of productions, next
year’s third season of ensembles looks very promising -- which
is something no one should miss.
