EPCC’s
voices around campus...
The Tejanos baseball team changed their uniform colors from the official EPCC teal and white, to orange and black. Should teams or organizations use whatever colors it desires, or follow college tradition?

A sports team of any kind should have the right to choose whatever colors best represents them. I don’t think a team’s colors are so much an issue of tradition. The tradition of any sports team should be a legacy of winning. |
Tradition plays a big role in the colors, I think that they should stick to the colors of the college, so that they can be easily identified as the team of the college. Everybody identifies with colors and is able to say who’s from NMSU or UTEP.
The Tejanos are representing the school, not only academically, but also athletically. Therefore, they should be required to use the school colors because it identifies them with its college.
It isn’t right for the baseball team to change its colors because it shows a lack of respect for tradition and it is very important to remain true to the college’s colors. By changing ... it shows a lack of respect for EPCC.
