On
Mar. 2, the Tejanos will play their first conference game. It is during
this game that they will unveil their new turf. According to Dana
Eisenga, coordinator of athletic information, the Tejanos are inviting
the EPCC board members to throw out the first pitch simultaneously,
so they can see what $921,700 bought the college.
The Tejanos will play host to Clarendon Community College. They will
play four games over two days. The Tejanos field should attract some
major attention now that is has a more professional look.
The field is completely covered with artificial turf and the right-
and left field fences are closer to home plate by 25 feet. After phase
two and three are complete, EPCC’s students will be able to
support the team.
