Federal Marshals have arrested a former EPCC student for allegedly
exposing himself on the Valle Verde campus.
On Jan. 17, Jahziel Daniel Alvarado, 21, allegedly exposed himself
to two women, at least one of whom works at Valle Verde, between 8:30
p.m. and 9 p.m. at the VV campus, in parking lots J and L, said EPCC
Chief of Police, J.R. Grijalva.

Alvarado approached the women in his 1999 red Pontiac Grand Am while
they were walking to their vehicles and asked them for directions
to the admissions office, said Grijalva.
According to the poice report, “When the employee walked over
to the car, she observed what appeared to be a class schedule in his
hand. The male then exposed himself to the employee.”

When
the women got close enough to give him directions, he exposed himself
and drove away, Grijalva said. One of the women told EPCC police the
incident “scared” her. One of them recalled the license
plates to Alvarado’s car.
With this information, EPCC Police were able to identify the former
student, said Grijalva. EPCC police then contacted the local authorities.
They in turn issued two arrest warrants for Alvarado.
Both warrants failed when the El Paso Police Department tried to reach
him at his place of residence. During the week of Feb. 2, the U.S.
Marshals did a warrant sweep to clean up pending warrants.
He had evaded the local authorities for several days, but Alvarado
was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals at his girlfriend’s house
on Feb. 2.
Grijalva said both women identified Alvarado in a line-up. Alvarado
was booked and two bonds were set at $30,000 each.
The former EPCC student is still awaiting trial.
