Tejanos baseball program gets facelift
By Andy Acosta

There has been a major makeover with the Tejanos’ baseball program since head coach Shannon Hunt arrived on the scene.

First, the baseball field has been remodeled with a new artificial grass surface that players and other teams take advantage of.

Second, the Tejanos have changed their team colors from the traditional teal and white to orange and black.

Third, there is a new team clubhouse that was built with funds raised by the players and is adjacent to the baseball field.

It is equipped with lockers for each player and a place for the student athletes to do their homework and hang out with their teammates.

Instead of using the student gym’s restrooms or narrow lockers, they now have the ability to place all their belongings in their own individual lockers in the clubhouse.

The Tejanos head back home after a rough series in Henderson, Nevada.

The Tejanos went 1-3 in the four-game series and look to bounce back in a two-game series against Eastern Arizona College on Feb. 23 at noon at the EPCC field.

The Tejanos have already registered a victory over the Gila Monsters this season in Arizona.

The Tejanos will then go on a grueling 14-game road trip, which will take them into conference play against Clarendon College.
The Tejanos are currently 6-8.
