Accomplished high school students recognized

Who’s Who Among American High School Students held its seventh annual prestigious ceremony at the EPCC Administrative Services Center on Feb. 5.

The purpose of the program when it began seven years ago was to encourage students to continue with college after high school. Campus Life and Student Leadership Director, Arvis Jones said, “As an institute of higher education, we want students to pursue a higher education.”

One person doing just that is student Angilquente Bolden. She will be attending the University of San Antonio and plans to join the Air Force JROTC with aspirations of pursuing a career in Journalism.

In attendance at this honorary ceremony were guest speakers Brandy Lynnette Yeary, M.D. and Motivational Speaker, Michael Yeary.
Along with the recognition that students receive for their accomplishments, students are encouraged to believe, achieve and succeed with determination.

Student Rhea Kirkland plans to attend the Air Force Academy and later join the Air Force.
She would like to pursue a career as an officer.
