Def Poetry Jam
Campus Life presents a Def Poetry Jam on Feb. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the ASC located at 9050 Viscount. Comedians and professional poets Patrick Candelaria, Beny Blaq and Asia will perform. Valentine’s Day
Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Valle Verde campus in the Cafeteria Annex on Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be games, arts and crafts for everyone. Refreshments and a money prize will be given. For more information call 831-2660.
Black History Month
The El Paso Museum of History will host “Learning and Fun” events on Feb.16 for Black History Month from 12 to 4 p.m. Activities include soul-food tasting, a lecture from Dr. Maceo Dailey, a Victory Warriors dance and a story-telling workshop. For more information call 351-3588.
Photography Contest
The El Paso Central Business Foundation is calling for interested amateur photographers to participate in the Third Annual Downtown Photo Contest through March 3.
There’s a $10 fee per submission, limit of three. Must be 18 years old. For more information call 533-2656.
Candidate Debate
Democrats will debate at the ASC Auditorium on Feb. 20 & 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. Positions will include: constable, county commissioner, sheriff, district attorney and more.
